Northern Wisconsin job center helped thousands. For more than 50 years, Blackwell has provided free vocational training to thousands of 16- to 24-year-olds in trades ranging from carpentry to office administration. The village's deputy clerk and treasurer also handed in her resignation. It opened a net 98 restaurants — 77 company-owned and 21 franchised — closing out the year with 395 locations.
